The kitchen is the hub and heart of any home but what happens when the kitchen is a hot mess?!

Our kitchen is small, old, and extremely dysfunctional. It needs a renovation, it cannot be helped much without one. Although we’re saving our pennies and a renovation is in our future, it’s important to my husband and I that we can pay for it and we’re not accumulating more debt.

We did the Dave Ramsey “Debt Snowball” method and we’re planning to be debt free (with the exception of our leased car which we cannot make extra payments on and our mortgage) by the end of 2019. Likely, it’ll be a lot sooner, but we are renovating our kitchen! [Update, three weeks later- and now my shower is leaking]

This month, we’re going to be organizing and cleaning out our kitchens, learning about buying less (un-stuff the pantry!) and how to become a minimalist in the kitchen.

We’re going to examine the differences between North American and European cooking and eating habits with an exclusive interview with Michelin Star Restaurant-trained Belgian chef, Neil Benin (a.k.a. my brother!).

We’re also going to be looking at whether organic groceries really are better for us and talking about how, “What goes in, must come out,” and how that relates to our spiritual lives.

Are You Ready? Let’s Begin!

Check out this week’s video of my kitchen clean up and start on yours, today!
